The Slavonic Computing Initiative brings together volunteers who are interested in Church Slavonic and dedicated to the philosophy of standards compliance and free and open source software. The project depends entirely on the work of volunteers like you.

Ongoing Projects

Here are some projects that we are working on right now:

• Design of Unicode-compliant fonts for Znamenny Notation

• Adding more features to the cu-tex package.

• Developing Church Slavonic spell checking for Hunspell, which can be used in LibreOffice, Mozilla Firefox, and other applications.

• Developing Church Slavonic OCR (optical character recognition) using the Tesseract software.

• Digitizing even more Church Slavonic liturgical books.
